Conditions
Femoro-Acetabular Impingement (FAI) and Labral tear
A mechanical issue caused by a build-up of bone
on the ball and/or socket components of the hip
joint. As the bony prominences become bigger,
the repetitive contact as the hip moves results in
associated labral tears, and damage to the
cartilage, potentially resulting in early-onset
osteoarthritis.
Movement-related hip/groin pain and stiffness
A hip with deep, sharp groin pain, decreased
range of hip motion, and post-activity stiffness is
one of the main indicators that there is an
underlying hip pathology
Osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip
Irreversible, degenerative changes to the hip
A hip with loss of internal rotation in extension
and one that moves outward when brought
toward the chest is one of the main indicators
of progressive OA
Hip Dysplasia
A shallow socket
Can lead to irregular wear of the cartilage,
a feeling of popping or catching during
movement, pain on the side of the hip or
groin, and limping ar all common
symptoms
